Cash budgeting and short-term finance planning

Online CPD course delivered by Tolley

Friday 15th March, 9am – 12pm

In our second accredited CPD course of 2024, delivered in conjunction with leading training provider Tolley, we look in detail at cash budgeting and the issues that need to be considered when seeking to create and optimise short-term financial strategies.

Even if a business is growing and is performing well, it cannot survive if it runs out of cash or does not manage its short-term capital properly.

This three-hour session covers:

  • The reasons why a business might need to hold cash
  • Tracing cash and net working capital
  • Identifying the operating and cash cycles
  • Preparing a cash budget
  • Determining the appropriate target cash balance
  • Creating an appropriate short-term financial policy
  • Improving cash management through:
    • proactively implementing inventory control
    • strategically following an optimal credit and collection policy

This webinar is aimed at professional advisers assisting their relatively new or small business clients on developing their operational strategies, managing their cashflow or working capital, releasing cash from business operations, or looking to increase operational expenditure.

The event will take place virtually on Zoom. All our courses are free to attend and delegates quality for three hours of structured CPD if attending this live session being delivered by Tolley on our behalf.

The webinar is part of the K3 Hub training and events programme. In 2021, we launched the K3 Hub – a member network for professional advisers developed by K3 Capital Group Limited.

During 2024, we will be running a series of structured and unstructured CPD webinars. Following the key stages in an SME’s lifecycle from starting out to maturity and beyond, our webinars will focus on the key themes of interest to SMEs and their professional advisers. The series covers a range of topics from employment law basics and cashflow management through to funding for growth and building to sell.
