Corporation tax mitigation

Online CPD course delivered by Tolley

Friday 4th October 2024, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

In our eighth accredited CPD course of 2024, delivered in conjunction with leading training provider Tolley, we take the opportunity to consider the role of corporation tax planning in today’s business environment, including the examination of current key mitigation opportunities and strategies.

Minimising corporation tax liabilities is a key feature of business strategy irrespective of whether the company involved is a growing company seeking to enhance cash reserves or a mature company looking simply to reduce inefficiencies.

This three-hour session focuses on:

  • The difference between tax mitigation and tax avoidance
  • The governance framework managing tax avoidance including:
    • The general anti-avoidance rule
    • Targeted anti-avoidance rules relating to corporation tax
    • DOTAS
    • Accelerated payment orders and follower notices
    • Clearance procedures
  • A brief review of current contested ‘tax avoidance’ schemes
  • Consideration of available reliefs, exemptions, structures and practices that assist corporation tax mitigation
  • Creating a workable and robust corporation tax mitigation strategy

This webinar is aimed at anyone engaged in or advising established businesses on corporation tax strategy.

The event will take place virtually on Zoom. All our courses are free to attend and delegates qualify for three hours of structured CPD if attending this live session being delivered by Tolley on our behalf.
